Weekly Photo Challenge: Nostalgic

Sometimes the pleasures of going to the beach or to amusement parks don’t seem to have changed since the 50s or 60s. This snapshot I took earlier this week in central British Columbia looks just like the pictures my parents took thirty years ago, of our family outings by the waters in southern Ontario.

    • Hi Janet. It’s an app effect, created on an iPhone app called Superslides. I have friends who projected their slides from the 60s/70s onto a wall and used a very good camera to take pictures of them all, and thus digitize them. There are also devices like the “iPics 2 Go” from IonAudio that enable the projection-to-rephotograph process, if one has a smartphone. Other than the cost of the phone, it’s not more than $50 and one’s time to process them. I’d love to hear if you do digitize your parents slides, what your process is. Thanks for dropping by.

      • Thanks for the tips. What a fun app, too. So far, I still have a dumb phone, but next time we have to get phones, that will probably change. :-). Not sure the are any non-smart phones available anymore.
